Aims and Scope
Clinical and Experimental Investigations is an international, scholarly multidisciplinary peer reviewed, open access journal which publishes high quality research articles that deal with clinical and experimental researches such as the methodology and outcomes of clinical trials and experimental investigations. The scope of the journal covers Bioethics, Biomedicine, Biostatistics, Clinical Engineering, Clinical Microbiology, Clinical Trials, Endocrinology, Epidemiology, Genetics, Hematology, Immunology, Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Science, Radiology, Surgery, Vaccines and Virology.
The journal aims to timely disseminate experimental and clinical research findings to improve human health care. It broadens the scope for upcoming clinicians, biological and medical technical groups who are passionate to reveal the hidden nature phenomenon with their toiling efforts in investigations involved in it. Clinical and Experimental Investigations accepts original articles, reporting results of clinical or experimental researches, unique case reports and brief reports, comprehensive and informative Review articles.

After gaining his specialization, he carried out surgical fellowship in endoscopy and surgical oncology in Ginekoloska Klinica, University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), in Abteilung für Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe, LandesKrankenHouse, Villach (Austria) and in European Institute of Oncology, Milan (Italy). He worked in National Oncological Institute of Aviano, PN (Italy), as instructor in national endoscopic courses and he currently works in University affiliated Hospital, the “Vito Fazzi” Hospital, Lecce, Italy, as Chief of Division of Experimental Researches on Endoscopic Surgery, Imaging, Minimally Invasive Technology and Therapy in ObGyn Department. He is a collaborator and a permanent member of Committee in Experimental Oncological and Pathological Research in Gynecology and in Surgery, at University of Salento, Italy. Dr. Tinelli’s clinical specialities include: gynaecological surgical oncology, gynaecological endoscopy and advanced minimally invasive therapy, proteogenomics in gynaecology, pelvic floor repair and endometriosis. Dr. Tinelli is author and co-author of 3 Books, more than 250 papers, on peer-reviewed medical journals and 20 textbook chapters. Finally, he is active member of several national and international scientific and professional associations and he has been invited as a speaker in several meetings.

About Me
I work in a department of Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine for around 20 years. The tasks of our department include training, research, clinical treatment with hyperbaric oxygen, and providing medical support for deep diving at sea. I’m interested in the research and treatment of decompression illness (DCI), which refers to any medical disorder, illness, or injury arising as a result of decompression from higher to lower ambient pressure. This includes decompression sickness (DCS) related to gas freed from solution in tissues during decompression and arterial gas embolism (AGE) usually caused by penetration of alveolar gas into the circulation, one of the critical complications of pulmonary barotrauma (PBT). DCI is rare in comparison with other illnesses and many physicians are inexperienced in its treatment.

Roberto Franceschi is a 35-year-old Paediatric Endocrinologist and member of the Paediatric Diabetology team at S.Chiara Hospital of Trento (Italy). He faces thyroid diseases, growth problems, abnormal puberty development and adrenal diseases. Moreover, he can manage different types of paediatric diseases when he is on call in the paediatric ward. He has been Clinical Fellow to Prof. Peter E Clayton for six months at the Department of Endocrinology “Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital” in Manchester. He is also an active member of the Research Team to the Paediatric Endocrine Unit of the University of Verona and coordinator of a research project on LRP5 gene in collaboration with the University of Manchester (UK).

Qing-He Meng received his medical education and had practiced as a physician for 8 years in China. He obtained his PhD in Clinical Chemistry from the University of Helsinki, Finland, in 1999. Following postdoctoral training in Clinical Chemistry at McMaster University, he assumed the position of Clinical Chemist/Assistant Professor at Royal University Hospital, University of Saskatchewan, Canada in 2003. He then moved to the Hospital for Sick Children, the University of Toronto and took the position as a Clinical Chemist and Assistant Professor in 2006. Currently he is Professor and Associate Director of Clinical Chemistry at Royal University Hospital, the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. Qing is a Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry (ABCC) and Fellows of NACB (FACB) and the Canadian Academy of Clinical Biochemistry (FCACB). In addition to laboratory service, he is also actively involved in research and teaching at various levels. His research interests focus on lipids, diabetes, atherosclerosis, and cardiac markers. He has received substantial funds and has published over 50 papers in refereed journals. He serves as a reviewer for several journals and AACC annual meeting abstract committee. He is on the editorial board of Clinica Chimica Acta and Journal of Clinical and Experimental Pathology. He is also a Lab inspector for the CAP and the Chair of the Canadian Academy of Clinical Biochemistry. Currently he is the President of North American Chinese Clinical Chemist Association (NACCCA).

Prof Melvin Khee-Shing Leow is a board certified licensed senior consultant endocrinologist affiliated with the Department of Endocrinology of Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He is a clinician-scientist, clinical associate professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and adjunct associate professor at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School. He graduated from National University of Singapore and received postgraduate training in internal medicine. He is a Visiting Neurologist at Concord hospital, a Chronic Pain Specialist at the RPAH Pain Clinic and a Rehabilitation Specialist at Balmain hospital. In addition, he has a busy Neurology and Chronic Pain private practice where he also performs electrophysiological investigations. He completed his PhD in 2004 in Motor Neuron Disease with his primary paper, “Detection of pre-clinical motor neurone loss in SOD1 mutation carriers using motor unit number estimation” being widely cited in the international literature. He has also written 2 book chapters on this subject. He currently has a number of research projects and clinical interests are in the Parkinson’s Disease and Chronic Pain.

Anna-Lena Berg is a senior clinical nephrologist and associated professor working in Lund University Hospital, Lund, Sweden. During research on the lipid metabolism she observed the ACTH at pharmacological dosage has a considerable lipid-lowering effect. In one of the follow-up studies of the ACTH-specific lipid-lowering effect she unexpectedly also found an ACTH-specific antiproteinuric effect in patients with membranous nephropathy. She has published more than 20 articles on the effect and mechanisms of ACTH treatment in various disorders, and is also working on optimizing treatment regimes with ACTH.

Publication Charges
Clinical and Experimental Investigations is an Open Access journal and we do not charge the end user when accessing a manuscript or any article. This allows the scientific community to view, download, distribution of an article in any medium, provided that the original work is properly cited, under the term of "Creative Commons Attribution License".
In line with other open access journals we provide a flat fee submission structure on the acceptance of a peer-reviewed article which covers in part the entirety of the publication pathway (the article processing charge). The process includes our maintenance, submission and peer review systems and international editing, publication and submission to global indexing and tracking organisations and archiving to allow instant access to the whole article and associated supplementary documents. We also have to ensure enough investment to secure a sustainable model which ethically, legally and financially stable.
The publication charge for Clinical and Experimental Investigations is £ (GBP) 1099.

Why do we charge?
All articles published in Science Repository are open access. Open Access publishing implies that all readers, anywhere in the world, are allowed unrestricted to full text of articles, immediately on publication in Science Repository Journals. The Article Publication Charges pay for the editorial and production costs of the journal, for hosting the website, publishing articles online, preparing HTML , PDF and XML versions of the articles and submitting the articles in electronic citation database like CrossRef.
Our financial goals are to:
- Maintain the portal for best experienece
- Recover capitalization cost
- Produce sufficient revenue to allow for a sustainable and scalable publishing program, under continuous development
- Although we charge the minimum possible but we will reduce the publication-charge cost downward over time.
When should I pay?
Corresponding author or the paying institutions should arrange for the payment once they are notified regarding acceptance of the article. APC is exempted for cases in which a wavier agreement has been made in-prior to submission.
*We request an immediate attention towards the payment as the articles will not be published unless the charges have been paid.
Who will pay the APC (Article Processing Charges)?
Corresponding author or Co-authors has to make the payment on acceptance of the article.
How do I pay?
Authors or institutions can make payments by two modes as per their convenience.

Note: No taxes are included in this charge, taxes will be applicable as per the policies of the country of the payee. Additional transaction gateway charges may be levied on the payee.
Do I have to pay if my manuscript is rejected?
No, Article processing charges will not be applicable for articles rejected by the Editorial office.
Can I be eligible for wavier on APC?
The waiver request will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and will be provided accordingly.
*The Waiver requests must be made during the submission process and will not be accepted after processing of the manuscript.
