Aims and Scope
Journal Gerontology & Geriatrica Research is open access, peer-reviewed journal that focuses on publishing articles on the latest and advanced technological developments highlighting basic clinical research in the fields of Gerontology and Geriatrics.
The journal provides a uniform platform for all the gerontologists, geriatric physicians, and professionals working in this field to exchange and share their knowledge which helps in the development of the further research. Readers can fetch the most significant gerontological and geriatric research articles from our journal.
GGR is designed for a broad range of readers, including students, faculty, practitioners, administrators, and policy-makers and is aims for disseminating cutting-edge and evidence-based research in the field of gerontology and geriatrics. GGR accepts various types of articles involving research on pathology, physiology, etiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis, genetics, treatment of aging, age-related diseases and anti-aging pharmacological preparations in humans.

Biography
Dr. Todd has been in healthcare and specifically nursing for over 30 years. Dr. Todd's spent the majority of her first 15 years in nursing in Adult Critical Care Units in the speciality areas of Cardiac Intensive Care and Open Heart. Dr. Todd was employed by Bristol Myers Squibb for 10 years and was in the role of a Speciality Sales Representative in the Cardiovascular Division promoting pharmaceutical agents for heart disease that included hypertension and diabetes agents. She received her Master's Degree in Nursing with emphasis of study as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Duke University in 2000 and continues to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the speciality area of Geriatrics. Dr. Todd completed her doctoral work at Duke University in May 2014 and focused her research on delirium detection in post-operative hip fracture patients. Dr. Todd has presented multiple times at a national level on geriatric and quality of care related topics. She has a passion for educating others and was previously an adjunct professor at University of Detroit Mercy teaching pathophysiology in the undergraduate nursing program. Additionally, she is involved with health care policy and advocacy work at a state and national level where she collaborates with legislators discussing issues that impact quality of patient care. Dr. Todd is presently the Director of Heart and Vascular Services at Mercy Health Saint Mary's in Grand Rapids Michigan where she resides with her husband and toy poodle. Her personal interests includes golf, running, and skiing.

About Me
Professor Kyriakos Kouveliotis is currently President of the educational organisation Atheneum Liberal Studies and Professor at Uninettuno University. He has a PhD in European Integration and International Relations completed at the Department of Politics, University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. His doctorate, entitled “The Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union and Weak States”, has focused on the analysis and the demonstration of the policy’s institutional development, its adaptability on specific case studies and its future perspectives and prospects. He also holds an MA in Diplomacy awarded by Lancaster University UK, a certificate in Linguistics awarded by Bangor University UK and a BA in English Literature and Linguistics awarded by Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Greece. He has also completed two cycles of Post -Doctorate research one on Decision and Policy -Making and one on Conflict Resolution and Crisis Management. Professor Kouveliotis has worked in various research groups, he is an accomplished researcher in a variety of disciplines, and in the last 20 years he has taught in many Universities and educational organisations globally among which Newcastle University, University of Sunderland, Deree College, University of Indianapolis, Hellenic Air Force War College and Hellenic Naval War College to name a few. He is an expert in developing new curricula, programs and syllabi, whereas in 2009 he has created and developed the Master of Science in Health Management at Uninettuno University in two different languages, to which he is also its Director with hundreds of graduates so far. Recently and with the support and assistance of the University he has created we signed international partnerships with institutions in the USA, UK, Singapore, India, and Somalia. Professor Kouveliotis has published 12 books and dozens of original scientific articles. His track record of academic publishing is composed of a variety of papers concerning political, economic and educational issues whereas in the last years he is working on his original initiative for the development of a “Global Degree” http://www.ted.com/conversations/9560/the_global_degree_a_concis.html . He has also served as a Scientific Advisor to the Minister of Defence, to the Deputy Minister of Development and Competitiveness and to the General Secretariat of Communication and Mass Media of the Greek Government. He has recently been appointed by the Minister of Education as a Member in the Governing Committee of the Hellenic Open University.

About Me
Professor Arkadiusz Orzechowski is a professor and group leader at the Department of Physiological Sciences, Warsaw University of Life Sciences - SGGW, Poland. He was graduated as veterinary surgeon (DVM) and earned Ph. D. in animal physiology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Warsaw University of Life Sciences - SGGW, Poland. Professor Orzechowski has published over 100 papers on the subject of physiology and pathophysiology. From 1988 Professor Orzechowski put emphasis on muscle regeneration, Ca2+ fluxes in tumor cells, and Alzheimer’s disease (AD). He is a recognised expert in the field of skeletal muscle physiology giving many invited papers at international meetings around the world. In animal physiology, he developed novel methods for quantitative measurement of metabolic activity in liver and skeletal muscles, as well as biochemistry of isolated mitochondria. Recently, his is focused on lipid rafts (LR) as vital platforms in signal transduction. His work is directed on the evaluation of LR contribution to cell signalling, proteomics and autophagy control in neuronal models of AD. In skeletal muscle he studies the role LR in the activation of residual satellite cells and the differentiation of myoblasts to muscle fibers. He chairs the Warsaw Division of the Polish Society of Veterinary Sciences and is the Vice-Dean for Research Affairs at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Warsaw University of Life Sciences - SGGW.

Our main research lines include Neuroimmunology and Immunosenescence. Of note, we are interested to study the psychoneuroendocrine determinants of premature aging of the immune system in various human populations, including healthy older adults, patients with rheumatoid arthritis and bipolar disorder. During the academic venture, I got an opportunity to observe the community and community-based health problems very closely. Both BPH and MPH degree taught me numerous aspects of research, monitoring, and evaluation. The interest in field-based research motivated me to join and complete a Ph.D. in public health. Since then, I have devoted my career to active quantitative research as a full time researcher (2013 onward-). Publication Charges
Gerontology & Geriatric Research is an Open Access journal and we do not charge the end user when accessing a manuscript or any article. This allows the scientific community to view, download, distribution of an article in any medium, provided that the original work is properly cited, under the term of "Creative Commons Attribution License".
In line with other open access journals we provide a flat fee submission structure on the acceptance of a peer-reviewed article which covers in part the entirety of the publication pathway (the article processing charge). The process includes our maintenance, submission and peer review systems and international editing, publication and submission to global indexing and tracking organisations and archiving to allow instant access to the whole article and associated supplementary documents. We also have to ensure enough investment to secure a sustainable model which ethically, legally and financially stable.
The publication charge for Gerontology & Geriatric Research is £ (GBP) 1099.

Why do we charge?
All articles published in Science Repository are open access. Open Access publishing implies that all readers, anywhere in the world, are allowed unrestricted to full text of articles, immediately on publication in Science Repository Journals. The Article Publication Charges pay for the editorial and production costs of the journal, for hosting the website, publishing articles online, preparing HTML , PDF and XML versions of the articles and submitting the articles in electronic citation database like CrossRef.
Our financial goals are to:
- Maintain the portal for best experienece
- Recover capitalization cost
- Produce sufficient revenue to allow for a sustainable and scalable publishing program, under continuous development
- Although we charge the minimum possible but we will reduce the publication-charge cost downward over time.
When should I pay?
Corresponding author or the paying institutions should arrange for the payment once they are notified regarding acceptance of the article. APC is exempted for cases in which a wavier agreement has been made in-prior to submission.
*We request an immediate attention towards the payment as the articles will not be published unless the charges have been paid.
Who will pay the APC (Article Processing Charges)?
Corresponding author or Co-authors has to make the payment on acceptance of the article.
How do I pay?

Do I have to pay if my manuscript is rejected?
No, Article processing charges will not be applicable for articles rejected by the Editorial office.

The waiver request will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and will be provided accordingly.
