Comments: The study aims at understanding the epidemiological changes after the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects especially on the older generations. It also emphasizes on the need for simple and personalized cancer care. The COVID-19 pandemic has led to evolution of the “new normal” and has made the term “frailty” common. This pandemic has drastically affected the health care industry especially the field of geriatric oncology. The study illustrates that COVID-19 can lead to long term effects which are not precisely known in the present times. The study highlights the problems of the patients, suffering from chronic diseases, such as cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular problems, indirectly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Early diagnosis is crucial for proper treatment of these diseases. The indirect effects of COVID-19 will cause serious problems in the near future. During this pandemic, the sophisticated and specialized health care system has failed. The study concludes that with the new concept of “frailty” the pandemic has introduced, the current perspective of disease and health care systems should be changed. There is a need for personalization of care for cancer management and a holistic approach to it.
