Comments:
The case description is adequate. The Discussion section aptly analyses the observations presented in the study as well as reports the successful clinical implication of minimally invasive endodontics (MIE) in the treatment of a mandibular left first premolar with taurodontism by root canal management. It adequately discusses literature relevant to this study. This report concludes by stating that MIE associated with a new single-file rotary system, advanced imaging system, cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and dental operating microscopic magnification are beneficial in root canal treatment to achieve a better outcome.

Further comments on the paper
Comments: This case report highlights the efficacy of minimally invasive endodontics (MIE) for root canal management of a mandibular left first premolar with complex root canal configurations by presenting a case of a 67-year-old male Chinese patient diagnosed with a severe pain in the mandibular left posterior tooth. The tooth presented four root canals and the characteristics of taurodontism. MIE is highly dependent on proper diagnosis, treatment planning, design of root canal treatment and post-restoration. New nickel-titanium (Ni-Ti) rotary instruments, cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), advanced imaging system and microscopic magnification are essential tools in proceeding MIE during clinical practice to minimize the removal of healthy tooth structure and maintain the dental hard tissue as much as possible which give rise to a better outcome.
