Synovial Chondromatosis of the Temporomandibular Joint – Clinical, CT, MRI, Surgical and Histological Findings: Case Report
Review Data
Purpose and Significance of Study: This is a report of the case of a rare occurrence, i.e., synovial chondromatosis of the temporomandibular joint, in a 50-year-old woman. It also includes a review of the relevant literature.
Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the journal Dental Oral Biology and Craniofacial Research.
While the preoperative, perioperative and postoperative course are thoroughly covered in the Case report, the discussion includes the characterization of the rare disease, its diagnostic approaches and challenges, and treatment with respect to the available literature.
The manuscript contains some minor errors (already corrected in the galley proof), which are listed below –
· In the last sentence of the Abstract, “,” after “area” must be replaced with “;”, and “stablished” must be replaced with “established”.
· Usage of incorrect prepositions, e.g., “during” instead of “for” four times in the 5th paragraph of the Case report, and “with” instead of “to” after “related” in the 1st sentence of the 2nd paragraph of the Introduction, in the 3rd sentence of the 2nd paragraph of the Case report, and so on.
· Some words were misspelled, e.g., “condylar” in the 1st sentence of the 7th paragraph of the Discussion, and “myxoid” in the 1st sentence of the last paragraph of the Discussion.
