Discussion & Conclusion

Q: Is it related to the results presented before? Do you consider them as coherent?

A: Very Good

Comments: The Discussion section summarizes the significant risk factors associated with early dental implant failure. The implant-based analysis reports that the risk of early dental implant failure is higher than late failure and it properly analyses the factors responsible for this failure. It also assesses the influence of implant brands on implant failure and shows that these implant brands have significantly less early failure rates. A deep understanding of these risk factors may improve the future clinical practice. It adequately discusses the literature relevant to this study. Figures and tables are briefly explained.

Further comments on the paper

Comments: This cross-sectional retrospective study analyses the risk factors associated with early dental implant failure in 892 patients who received 1931 dental implants by using multivariate logistic regressive model and generalized evaluating equations (GEE). It also assesses the influence of different patient-related, surgical-related factors as well as implant brands to the incidence of early dental implant failure. This study demonstrates that the incidence of implant failure and its complications are affected by a number important factors that the clinicians should consider while assessing the patient. Recognizing these potential risk factors could help clinicians to achieve an optimum outcome by altering the treatment plan.

Q: Would you recommend this manuscript for further publication?
