Apocrine Carcinoma Arising in a Sebaceous Nevus of the Scalp in a 24-Year-Old Female
Review Data
o Purpose and Significance of Study: This is a report of the case of the youngest person with an apocrine carcinoma arising out of a sebaceous nevus of the scalp present since birth. The report includes a note on the current management of such cases as well.
o Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the journal Global Surgery Case Reports.
o The discussion throws light on the incidence of a cutaneous apocrine carcinoma of the sebaceous nevus and the prevalent management practices for such cases. The authors also suggest, based on the young age of this patient, that clinicians must investigate changes in a sebaceous nevus regardless of patient age at presentation.
o The manuscript has a few very minor errors (already corrected in the galley proof), which are listed below –
· Use of the alternative spelling “naevus” in a couple of places is discouraged for the sake of consistency.
· “a” before “NS” must be replaced with “an”.
