Gunshot Wound to Abdomen Causing Life-Threatening Zone I Retroperitoneal Hematoma from Artery of Adamkiewicz
Review Data
Purpose and Significance of Study: This is a report of a case of life-threatening zone I retroperitoneal hematoma from the artery of Adamkiewicz due to an abdominal gunshot wound. The report attempts to redress the dearth of literature on the operative management of massive bleeding from the paraspinal vessels.
Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the journal Global Surgery Case Reports.
The Discussion aptly delineates the rationale of the operative approach taken in the case, especially without preoperative imaging and with scanty literature, and offers valuable insights into the operative management of similar cases.
o The manuscript has a few very minor errors (already corrected in the galley proof), which are listed below –
· Use of incorrect prepositions, e.g., in the 1st sentence of the Introduction, “to” must be replaced with “into”, in the 2nd sentence of the Introduction, “to” must be replaced with “of”, and so on.
· In the 7th sentence of the 3rd paragraph of Clinical Case, “Everest” must be replaced with “EVARREST”.
