Purpose and Significance of Study: This study attempted to determine the strength of association between vitamin D and metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance and diabetes mellitus in the general US population.

Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the Journal of Diabetes, Metabolism and its Complications.

o   There are some minor errors (already corrected in the galley proof), which are listed below –

 

The common errors are –

·       Omission of articles, e.g., “the” before “study” in the 1st sentence of Methods in the Abstract, “a” after “is” in the 1st sentence of the 2nd paragraph of the Introduction, and so on.

·       Omission of “,”, e.g., before “including”, after “however”, after “e.g.” and many other places.

·       Overuse of “,”, e.g., after “(MetS)” in the 1st sentence of the 1st paragraph of the Introduction, after “collections” in the 4th sentence of the 1st paragraph of Subject and Methods, and so on.

·       Usage of incorrect prepositions, e.g., “for” after “risk” instead of “of” in the 6th sentence of the 2nd paragraph of Subject characteristics under Results, “with” after “related” instead of “to” in the 2nd sentence of the next paragraph, and so on.

·       “Well-known”, “one-third”, and “pro-inflammatory” must be hyphenated.

·       “Lifestyle” must be written as a single word.

·       In the last sentence, “versus” must be replaced with “and”.

  Under Conclusion –

·       “indicate” must be replaced with “indicates”.

In the Introduction –

  In the 1st paragraph –

·       In the last sentence, “atherosclerosis” is misspelled.

  In the 3rd paragraph –

·       In the 3rd sentence, “kidney” is misspelled.

·       In the 4th sentence, “depend” must be replaced with “depends”, and “shine” must be removed.

·       In the 5th sentence, “time” must be removed.

·       In the 7th sentence, “but” must be removed.

In Subject and Methods –

  In the 2nd paragraph –

·       In the 2nd sentence, “were” must be replaced with “was”.

  In the 5th paragraph –

·       In the 3rd sentence, “,” after “continuous” and “;” after “variables” must be removed.

·       In the last sentence, “,” must be replaced with “,”, and “remarkably” must instead be placed after “differ”.

In the Results –

  Under Subject Characteristics –

  In the 3rd paragraph –

·       In the 3rd sentence, “minimal” must be replaced with “minimum”.

·       In the 8th sentence, “generally” must instead be placed before “had”.

  In the 4th paragraph –

·       In the 2nd sentence, “those” must be removed, and “having” must be replaced with “with”.

·       In the last sentence, “likely” must be replaced with “than”.

  In the 10th paragraph –

·       In the 8th sentence, “shade” must be replaced with “sheds”.

In the Discussion –

  In the 1st paragraph –

·       In the 2nd sentence, “,” before “however” must be replaced with “;”, and “be also” must be replaced with “also be”.

·       In the 3rd sentence, “selected” must be replaced with “select”.

  In the 4th paragraph –

·       In the last sentence, “, thus” must be replaced with “; thus,”.

  In the 5th paragraph –

·       In the 1st sentence, “is” after “D3” must be removed.

·       In the 2nd sentence, “source being” must be removed.

  In the 7th paragraph –

·       In the 1st sentence, “provides a support over” must be replaced with “weighs in on”, and “as to” must be replaced with “of”.

·       In the 3rd sentence, “was” must be removed.

Note: We suggest the author to modify the article title as a very similar article title is already published and this could lead to potential conflict.
