Detection of 2-Dodecylcyclobutanone in Low-Dose Irradiated (0.5 Gy) Goose Fat by Triple-Quad GC-MS/MS
Detection of 2-Dodecylcyclobutanone in Low-Dose Irradiated (0.5 Gy) Goose Fat by Triple-Quad GC-MS/MS
Review Data
Purpose and Significance of Study: This study attempted to develop a sensitive procedure to detect low-dose irradiation in the scale of 0.5 Gy to 20 Gy in goose fat by detection of 2-dodecylcyclobutanone. It may further aid in the detection of irradiation in foodstuff.
Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the Journal of Food Nutrition and Metabolism.
There are some minor errors (already corrected in the galley proof), which are listed below –
The common errors are –
· Omission or overuse of articles, e.g., overuse of “a” before “high” in the 1st sentence of the last paragraph of Abstract, omission of “the” before “concentration” in the 6th sentence of Labeling and verification in the Introduction, and so on.
· Omission or overuse of “,”, e.g., overuse after “intensity” in the 6th sentence of Labeling and verification in the Introduction, omission after “e.g.” in the 3rd and last sentences of Use of ionizing radiation in the Introduction, and so on.
· “,” before “thus” must be replaced with “;” in each place.
· “radiation-induced”, “fat-containing”, “best-suited”, “non-irradiated”, “high-performance”, and “clean-up” must be hyphenated.
The others are –
In the Introduction –
Under Use of ionizing radiation –
· In the 1st sentence, “in” must be replaced with “for”.
· In the 3rd sentence, “less” must be replaced with “lower”.
Under Labelling and verification –
· In the 2nd sentence, “control the compliance” must be replaced with “comply”
Under Aim of Investigations –
· In the 1st sentence, “investigations” must be replaced with “investigation”, “which” must be replaced with “that”, and “possible also” must be replaced with “also possible”.
In the Materials and methods –
Under Extraction and clean-up process –
In the 3rd paragraph –
· In the 1st sentence, “were” must be replaced with “was”.
In the Results and discussion –
Under Optimizing the extraction and cleanup –
· In the last sentence, “this” must be replaced with “these”.
Under Optimizing the detection of 2-DCB –
· In the 6th sentence, “marker” must be replaced with “markers”.
