Torsional Stability of a Chevron Interface for Intercalary Allograft Fixation of the Femur

Purpose and Significance of Study: This study assesses the torsional stability of a Chevron interface for intercalary allograft fixation of the femur. It confirms the equivalent torsional stability of the 60-degree chevron osteotomy and the 2-mm modified step-cut osteotomy.  The greater contact area of the 60-degree chevron osteotomy yields a larger surface for one healing.  

Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the Journal of Surgical Oncology. 

o   There are a few errors in the manuscript (already corrected in the galley proof). The most common ones are – 

·       Omission of articles, e.g. omission of “the” before “torsional” in the 3rd and 5th sentences of the Abstract, omission of “a” before “torsional” in the 4th sentence of the Abtract, and so on.

In the Results section – 

  In the 1st paragraph – 

·       In the last sentence, “of” after “influence” must be replaced with “on”. 

  In the 3rd paragraph – 

·       In the 4th sentence, “pre-load” must be replaced by “preload” to maintain consistency. 

In the Discussion section – 

  In the 1st paragraph – 

·       In the last sentence, “limb sparing” must be hyphenated. 

  In the 3rd paragraph – 

·       In the 1st sentence, “.” must be inserted after “et al”. 

·       In the 5th sentence, “of” after “account” must be removed. 

  In the 5th paragraph – 

·       In the 1st sentence, “a” before “small” must be removed. 

·       In the 4th sentence, “,” after “constructs” must be removed. 

·       In the last sentence, “,” after “reconstruction” must be replaced by “.”, “,” must be inserted after “Therefore” and “representation” must be replaced by “representations”.
