A Device for Polypectomy May Contribute to Safety in Bloodless Resection of a Small Hemangioma of the Tongue under Local Anesthesia

Purpose and Significance of Study: This is the report of a case of an 88-year-old woman with a small hemangioma of the tongue, which was resected with a device for polypectomy, which contributed to the safety of the bloodless resection, especially under local anesthesia.

 

o   Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the Journal of Surgical Oncology.

o   The manuscript contains a few minor errors (already corrected in the galley proof), which are listed below –

 

·       A common mistake is the omission of articles, e.g., “the” before “resection” and “an” before “88” in the 4th sentence of the Abstract, and so on.

In the Title –

·       “in” must be inserted after “safety”.

In the Abstract –

·       In the 2nd sentence, “for” must be inserted after “even”, “of hemangioma” after “treatment” must be removed, “was” must be replaced with “is”, and “performed” must be replaced with “provided”.

·       In the 4th sentence, “88 year-old” must be replaced with “88-year-old”.

·       In the last sentence, “for a” must be inserted after “even”, and “of” after “risk” must be replaced with “for”.

In the Introduction –

·       In the last sentence, “polype” must be replaced with “polyps”.

In Technical Note Report –

·       In the 2nd sentence, “88 year-old” must be replaced with “88-year-old”, and “of” must be replaced with “on”.

·       In the 3rd sentence, “was measuring of” must be replaced with “recorded was”.

·       In the 4th sentence, “be” must be inserted before “performed”, and “severe heart failure” must be replaced with “serious heart disease”.

·       In the 5th sentence, “newly safety” must be replaced with “new safe”.

·       In the 9th sentence, “before” must be replaced with “for”.

·       In the 10th sentence, “this” must be replaced with “the polypectomy”, and “slowly” must be replaced with “slow”.

·       In the 11th sentence, “the amount of” must be inserted before “blood”, “an” must be removed, and “i.e.,” must be inserted before “less”.

·       In the 13th sentence, “Postoperative local complications were not observed” must be replaced with “There were no postoperative local complications”.

In the Discussion –

  In the 1st paragraph –

·       In the 1st sentence, “cavernous” is misspelled, and “occur” must be replaced with “occurs”.

·       In the 3rd sentence, “have been” must be replaced with “were”.

·       In the 6th sentence, “,” before “however” must be replaced with “;”, and “were” must be removed.

·       In the last sentence, “,” before “however” must be replaced with “;”.

  In the 2nd paragraph –

·       In the 1st sentence, “at” after “advantages” must be replaced with “including”, “short-time” must  be replaced with “short”, “no” must be replaced with “less”, “complication” must be in plural, and “with” must be replaced with “to”.

  In the 3rd paragraph –

·       “device” must be in plural, “for a” must be inserted after “even”, and “of” after “risk” must be replaced with “for”.
