A: Good

Discussion & Conclusion

Q: Is it related to the results presented before? Do you consider them as coherent?

A: Good

Comments:

The case description is adequate. The Conclusion section presents the rare clinical complications of Hidradenitis Suppurativa associated with Verrucous Carcinoma (VC). It not only analyses the effect of hormonal activity in the development of Hidradenitis Suppurativa but also highlights the connection between hormonal activity of the pregnancy and the HPV promoting gene regulation in VC. This study also utilizes the literature relevant to this topic.

Literature

Q: Does the author utilize relevant literature?

A: Good

Author's knowledge

Q: What is the level of the author’s knowledge? Does the author utilize all recent contributions relevant to the topic?

A: Good

Length

Q: Is the length of the paper adequate to the significance of the topic? Do you suggest shortening the paper without losing its value?

A: Good

Figures & Tables

Q: Does the author use them suitably? Are legend and notations clear?

A: Very good

Writing style

Q: Is it clear and understandable?

A: Weak

Comments: The 2nd sentence of the Conclusion “Our experience…seems to weaken.” does not make sense. Hence, this sentence should be rephrased.

Further comments on the paper

Comments: This case report presents a case of a 34-year-old pregnant woman diagnosed with suppurative sinus pilonidalis. This is an unusual case of Hidradenitis Suppurativa, complicated by Verrucous Carcinoma (VC). The patient gave birth to a healthy baby but the patient remained unresponsive to biological therapy with Infliximab, advanced medication, ozone therapy and combined demolitive and plastic surgical treatment and died after 1 year due to oncological cachexia. This study shows how the hormonal activity can influence the development of the hidradenitis and it also analyses the connection between hormonal activity and the HPV promoting gene regulation which gives rise to neoplastic pathology in VC.

Q: Would you recommend this manuscript for further publication?
