Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for People with Multiple Sclerosis: A NonConcurrent Multiple Baselines Design

Purpose and Significance of Study: This is a non-concurrent multiple baselines design study that investigated the effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy on participation and quality of life for people with multiple sclerosis. While the results are promising, there are certain limitations, including small sample size, only female participants, and only a three-month follow-up after the intervention.

Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the journal Neurology and Neurobiology.

The manuscript is well-written. A few very minor errors (already corrected in the galley proof) are listed below –

 

The common ones are –

·       Omission of articles, e.g., “the” before “quality” in the 1^st sentence of Conclusion in the Abstract, before “participation” in the 3^rd point of Highlights, and so on.

·       Omission of “,”, e.g., after “life” in the 1^st sentence of Results in the Abstract, after “reduced” in the last sentence of the 1^st paragraph of Introduction, and so on.

·       “Third-generation”, “mindfulness-based”, etc. must be hyphenated.

·       In the 3^rd sentence, “,” after “length” must be replaced with “;”.

·       The 2^nd sentence must be replaced with “The summary of the content of the ACT protocol is provided in the appendix”.

  Under Data analysis –

  In the 2^nd paragraph –

·       In the 3^rd sentence, “a” before “randomization” must be removed.

In the Results –

  Under Participants –

  In the 1^st paragraph –

·       In the 3^rd sentence, “of four patients data” must be replaced with “data of four patients”.
