Complicated Spigelian Hernia with Incarcerated Appendicitis Presenting as a Local Cellulitis
Review Data
Purpose and Significance of Study: This is the report of a complicated Spigelian hernia with incarcerated appendicitis presenting as a local cellulitis in an 87-year-old man. This is a rare case with just a handful of reports in the literature. The report also touches upon the relevant cases in the literature.
The details of the case are clearly elaborated. Additionally, the brief review of the relevant literature and the note on the novelty of the case places it in the proper context for the readers.
o The manuscript contains just some minor errors (already corrected in the galley proof), which are listed below –
· Several words were misspelled, e.g., “Spigelian”, “occurred” “Lichtenstein”, “addressed”, “resembling”, and “abscess”.
· In the 1st sentence of the last paragraph, “original” must be replaced with “unique”.
· In the 5th, 6th, and 7th sentences of the last paragraph, “and al” must be replaced with “et al”.
The manuscript is therefore, recommended for publication in Surgical Case Reports.
If you have any questions and clarifications you can write to the journal.
