Comments:
Extracorporeal lithotripsy (ESWL) is one of the most common urological procedures. The presented case managed to preserve the affected kidney, which is a very important and very difficult achievement as per the literature. The case description is adequate. The Discussion explains the challenges in treating the patient in the present case clearly. It also offers useful suggestions with respect to the treatment regimen. The report is well supported with briefly explained figures. The present case required a surgical approach to correct the fistula.

Further comments on the paper
Comments: This case report and review of the literature presents the case of a 43-year-old female patient who had a serious consequence directly resulting from extracorporeal lithotripsy (ESWL), with the development of an abscess and associated nephrocolic fistula. This report holds significance as it is a very rare complication presented in the literature when associated to EWSL. Due to the rarity of the lesion, there is no standardized treatment or data in literature that makes it possible to determine the best conduct.
